Who scooped the pool for excellence?

SPASA NSW Pool & Spa Awards 2011 – winners announced

Exceptional achievements in creativity, innovation and design excellence from NSW and ACT pool and spa companies were recognised this weekend at the Swimming Pool and Spa Association of NSW's (SPASA NSW) annual gala awards dinner.

Pool and spa industry representatives from across NSW and the ACT came together to celebrate the industry's night of nights, at Curzon Hall on Saturday June 18. This year, there were 133 entries from metropolitan and regional NSW and the ACT.
According to SPASA NSW ceo Spiros Dassakis, the annual celebration of excellence was the culmination of months of tireless work by SPASA members who constantly strive to set new pool and spa industry benchmarks.

"At the annual Pool & Spa Awards, the ingenuity, creativity and true innovation from our aspiring members takes centre stage," Spiros explains. "The accomplishments of our finalists encapsulate Australian, and indeed, international pool building of the highest calibre."

Now into their 24th year, the SPASA NSW Awards are judged by an independent panel. The awards are designed to promote achievement in design, construction, innovation, and sustainability across all sectors of the industry; and encourage a high degree of competency and professionalism by members.

Judging criteria for pools and spas includes design innovation, degree of difficulty, artistic design, and quality of workmanship. There are numerous award categories covering excellence in pools, spas and water features. This year, for the first time, an award was given to the Pool Builder of the Year, with Capital Country Pools from the ACT taking out the top gong.
