Skills Recognition and RPL

 
SPASA welcomes students of all levels of experience, from new entrants through to those who are highly skilled and experienced in the swimming pool and spa industry.
 
You may apply to have prior learning and experience recognised toward a qualification or units of competence for which you are enrolled.
 
Recognition generally takes two forms: Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer.
 
RPL is an assessment process that confirms and recognises the skills and knowledge you may already have, against those taught and assessed in our training programs. This may reduce the amount of training that you would normally need to complete.
 
Although it is not necessarily a quick or trivial process, RPL aims to provide students who do not require formal learning with a flexible and faster way of having their skills and knowledge assessed against the competencies stipulated in training packages and vocationally accredited courses. Mature-age jobseekers or existing workers with accumulated life and work experiences are seen as primary students for RPL.
 
Credit Transfer is the recognition of competencies achieved through previous formal learning and assessment by an RTO, TAFE or University. Credit Transfer allows a student to be awarded a unit of competency based on successful completion of the identical unit which has been previously awarded.
